Connections and public realm

14 of 25 Principle 14

Principle 14:

Create an accessible network of varied and intensively used public spaces.

Example actions:

Take a holistic approach to public space to ensure that individual spaces function together as a coherent network across the district, to accommodate and provide variety for the increased number of visitors and local workers anticipated with the growth of the district.

Identify new public realm schemes that can positively contribute to the district by providing much needed, flexible and pleasant places to rest.

Reconsider how existing public spaces can fully optimise their potential by organising, clearing clutter and providing additional amenity such as adequate seating.
